I'm wary of using words like "whimsy" or "fun" to describe the work here.  Having enjoyed a certain amount of time as a children's illustrator, I know that a sense of fun is only arrived at through long hours of hard work.  Nonetheless, we love our work and fun happens.
Painting still life has always interested me, and I love working from real peaches or chocolates or Smarties that I've set up in the studio.
For some of the other elements, you might say the illustrator in me lives on.
