The images here are mostly smaller than a breadbox. This is the new vision for 2011 and onward, a search to connect more directly with the initial inspiration, and with the essence of each subject. Until recently, most of my paintings have taken many weeks to execute: I began to feel that I was only giving expression to a fraction of the ideas that move me. The time investment, moreover, was becoming a constraint on my freedom to experiment.
Any one of these could evolve into a larger painting, if that's important. Meanwhile, the Big Little Painting is reasonably priced, doesn't ask for much of your wall, plays nicely with other artwork, and -- the environmental hook, why not -- you don't need a car to take it home.
Enough talk. Look at the pictures.
