Kathryn Naylor

Gallery 1: Places & Elements explores the "spaces between": between seasons, between dark and light, between perception and memory. Many of the images have been inspired by hiking trips and other travels, souvenirs of moments deconstructed -- changing weather, the colour of underwater stone -- and then reconstructed in paint on canvas.
Gallery 2: Objects & Creatures, explores the spaces between the real and the possible, where so-called ordinary objects find improbable beauty, unexpected humour, and unforeseeable danger. Souvenirs, some of them, from travels through the neighborhood dollar stores.

In both galleries, these are postcards from the world in a grain of sand.
